bosch driver
High Fidelity Prototyping
Redesigning the external casing from an existing drill
Using the internal components of an existing hand drill, I replicated this on CAD in order to construct a redesign of the external casing in line with the ‘Bosch’ brand aesthetics.
This was then 3D printed and fitted together to create a fully working high fidelity prototype.
Copper Handle
Learning metal work
Introducing ornamental design into contemporary, everyday objects
Inspired by the attention to detail often seen in older styles of design, I aimed to balance the ornamental and contemporary into the everyday door handle. Whilst learning the qualities and the limits of metal work.
felting
experimenting with wool
Investigating the full potential of a single material and how far it can be refined and transformed without incorporating any additional elements.
My intrigue in learning a new material led me to testing wool felting. With the aim of discovering what the possibilities are with a single material without the addition of any other materials. This also led to testing the light permeability of the material and considering how it can be used in lighting applications.
