The chair was inspired by a rural Welsh upbringing.
A tribute to the heritage and values woven into Welsh culture. By blending the timeless design of the traditional Welsh stick back chair with a contemporary aesthetic, I aimed to honour its history while crafting a piece suited for today’s modern lifestyle. It is more than a piece of furniture - it is a connection to the past, reimagined for the present.
I have always found inspiration in the Welsh countryside and the Welsh people. This project is my opportunity to show off the place that raised me.

Made using Ash timber grown at my family home in North Wales. Using a mixture of traditional and contemporary techniques to honour the Welsh story of the chair.

The Welsh culture value community and support. To celebrate Welsh makers, this project worked in collaboration with Welsh textiles designer, Zoe Lewthwaite, who designed a linen throw to accompany the chair.
